About the Author

Samantha Leyerle is currently in her second year of a Women's and Gender Studies masters at the Graduate Center. She has previously been a fellow for the LaGuardia Wagner Archives, researching Ed Koch and his work as Mayor of New York City during the AIDS Crisis. Her research focus is on LGBTQIA+ history, specifically queer activist organizations. She previously has two Bachelors from the University of Kansas in history and women’s, gender, and sexuality studies.
